Can a disqualification be removed before the time is up?
If the court gives you a disqualification of more than two years, an application can be made to have your licence returned to you early. This is a difficult application. However, delivered properly and presented with the correct supporting evidence, you may be in a position to have your disqualification reduced.
If you study the table below you can work out how early you can apply for a new licence with a successful application.
- 2 years, if the disqualification is less than four years.
- One half of the period of disqualification, if it is for less than ten years but not less than four years.
- 5 years, if the disqualification was for ten years or more.
